Emily Collier, LCMHC, Founder and Lead Therapist
I approach therapy as a collaborative and engaged process, grounded in the belief that people grow through practice, curiosity, and support. Therapy with me is about learning new skills, applying them in everyday life, and building a deeper understanding of yourself along the way.
I value curiosity over judgment and believe meaningful growth happens when we can explore patterns with openness and self-compassion. I strive to create a space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with honesty and compassion, while being supported in identifying and gently challenging patterns in a grounded, intentional way. I honor each person’s unique experiences, pace, and readiness for change.
Resilience is a core belief I bring into my work. Humans are capable of growth even in the face of stress, uncertainty, and setbacks. I value growth over perfection, and I believe trying—showing up, practicing, and staying curious—is an important and powerful part of the healing process.
My Approach
Modalities
My work is informed by extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, exposure and response prevention (ERP), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I enjoy working with individuals from early childhood through early adulthood and adapt my approach to fit each stage of development.
Focus
I have a particular interest in supporting children, teens, and young adults who experience anxiety, panic, obsessive-compulsive concerns, trauma-related stress, and behavioral challenges. This may look like frequent worry, big emotional reactions, difficulty managing fears or intrusive thoughts, challenges with transitions or routines, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer feel helpful.
